Podcast

Listen to a bite-sized snapshot of my freelance journey, on this 20-minute podcast with Louise Creswick:

My career

I began writing at the age of 5 and never stopped. I’ve always loved English and the power of the written word. I actually got my first paid copywriting gig at the age of 15 – nabbing my own column in the Reading Evening Post.

I went on to study Journalism, Sociology and Psychology and City University, in London, which gave me invaluable insight into what makes people tick, and how to engage readers’ attention.

I’ve now totted up 30 years of experience writing and editing for a spectrum of brands and I still love finding fresh, creative ways to communicate.

I’ve been immersed in digital since 2007, and I’m in my element when I’m simplifying complex content and journeys – making them easier for people to understand and use.

I love…

● Fixing website content and flow to boost conversion and make your brand shine.
● Usability & accessibility transformations – ensuring your digital content is accessible to everybody.
● Writing UX/microcopy that genuinely helps users, reduces cognitive load and motivates action.
● Crafting creative ad, brand and marketing messages that connect.
● Educating and training – supporting and empowering people to write and publish more effective copy for a digital audience.
● Delivering content strategies that inspire brands to maximise their content marketing opportunities.
